EGCS (Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems)

The scope of the system is reducing emissions of hazardous air pollutants.
The PLC mainly regulates the flow of two pumps for each scrubber.
The main pump has to deliver enough water to the scrubber so as to maintain the emissions coming from the combustion of HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) below a certain threshold decided by the maritime standards.
The contaminated water that descends from the scrubber is diluted with clean water through the dilution pump and discharged overboard
The flow rate of the dilution pump is adjusted so as to maintain the pH, PAH and turbidity values of the water to be discharged in compliance with maritime regulations. 

The PLC interfaces with a Gas Analyzer which verifies the values of SO2 and CO2 emitted into the air.
The flow rate of the main pump is adjusted according to the SO2/SO2 ratio.

The system includes three water rack for each scrubber, where there are probes for the water analysis (pH, PAH and turbidity).
The PLC send all water analysis values to a Compliance PC where they will be collect by a database.

In case of system malfunction, a eWOn router is installed for Remote Assistance.
